Policy

Terms of sale

Last updated: June 2026

These terms apply when you buy from Ochil PCs, a sole-trader business operating from Dollar, Clackmannanshire, Scotland. They're written in plain English on purpose. Your statutory rights as a UK consumer sit above everything here and are never reduced by it.

Orders and payment

Orders are arranged directly rather than through an online checkout, and no payment is taken through this website. You send an enquiry, I confirm the specification and the full price by email, and a contract forms at that confirmation. Payment is due in pounds sterling when you collect the machine, by bank transfer or cash. If a listed price is plainly wrong - a £2,499 machine showing as £24.99 - I may decline the order rather than honour the error; since nothing is paid up front, there is nothing to refund.

Specifications and substitutions

The parts listed on each product page are the parts you get. If a specific component becomes unavailable, I'll offer an equal or better substitute and ask before building - silent downgrades are how this industry got its reputation, and they don't happen here. Performance figures are clearly-labelled estimates, with resolution and settings stated; they aren't a contractual guarantee of frame rates in your specific games and conditions.

Build times

Typical build-and-test time is 5–10 working days. Timelines I give you are honest estimates, not guarantees; if a parts delay pushes a build beyond the estimate, you'll hear it from me first and can cancel at no cost any time before you collect - nothing has been paid at that stage.

Delivery, returns and warranty

Delivery and collection are covered in the shipping policy; cancellation rights, returns and the 2-year labour warranty are in the returns & warranty policy. Both form part of these terms.

Repairs and customer equipment

For repair and servicing work: diagnosis happens first, and any work needing parts is quoted and agreed before it starts. Back up your data before handing over a machine - I take reasonable care, but data loss is an inherent risk of hardware work and backups are your responsibility. Machines left uncollected for more than 90 days after repeated contact attempts may be disposed of or sold to cover costs, as UK law allows.

Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that can't lawfully be limited. Otherwise, liability for a purchase is limited to the price you paid, and I'm not liable for losses that weren't a foreseeable result of a fault - for example, lost income from a machine being out of action.

Problems

If something goes wrong, email hello@ochilpcs.co.uk and it will be dealt with directly and quickly. These terms are governed by Scots law, and disputes can be brought in the courts of Scotland (or your local UK courts where consumer law gives you that choice).
